The 2021 Mercedes-AMG F1 W12 is now on sale on iRacing. The most successful Formula One team of the past decade can collaborate with popular racing simulations, and the idea that its current cars are available to users is truly incredible.

First of all, this is not a virtual vehicle with a similar level of detail that you would expect in the Formula One video game series officially authorized by Codemasters. The W12 version of iRacing is an easily accessible simulation. The physical details of the car model are unparalleled, every inch of carbon fiber has been modeled, and the aerodynamic components of each F1 car have different appendages.

The technical details are equally impressive. Obviously, the fixed transmission ratio and drag reduction system are required by Formula One regulations. For those who dared to enter the cockpit through the halo, its depth is much deeper. The steering wheel display is almost indistinguishable from its real-life counterparts. The variable differential and brake bias settings and the deployment mode of the energy recovery system are available in the car. Yes, if you want to accidentally lock the front tires in Turn 1 like Lewis Hamilton, you can even use "brake magic".

Although, there was a major setback. Changing or modifying the original paintwork of the Mercedes W12 is a violation of iRacing's terms and conditions. Trading Paints is the main third-party application for customizing iRacing paintings and does not support any car templates. I don't know you, but I saw a virtual F1 race in which 20 cars basically looked the same, which was confusing and disappointing. The only modifications available for the Mercedes W12 are car number and uniform accent colors.

Cut all the wires. It is modular, including wire strippers, crimpers and wire cutters. It is specially designed to handle data cables such as Ethernet cables.

The original performance of the elite Formula One machine is self-evident. It is the fastest real-world wheeler in the service, and an alien spacecraft in the go-kart. If commercial restrictions mean that I cannot personalize my strange misfortune behind the wheel of a modern Grand Prix car, so be it. However, this particular restriction will prevent many users from investing a lot of miles on F1 cars. iRacing has also reached an agreement with the Mercedes-AMG F1 team to bring its 2022 car to the simulation in the future.
