A new benchmark for sporty compact cars

Since its launch 35 years ago, the Civic Si has been providing young driving enthusiasts with affordable high-performance sports compact cars. Based on the first-class 11th-generation Civic sedan, the 2022 Civic Si continues this tradition. It is equipped with an updated turbocharged high-output VTEC® 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, a 6-speed manual transmission with standard speed matching, and a limited slip differential. , Sport-tuned suspension and available high-performance summer tires. Its driving mode system has normal, sports and new personal modes, allowing the driver to customize the driving experience.

The significantly wider power curve has been retuned, and the engine now offers 192 lb.-ft. Peak torque (SAE net value) ranges from 1,800-5,000 rpm, which is 300 rpm faster than the previous generation. The performance at the top of the tachometer has also been expanded, maintaining more output between the 200 hp (SAE net) peak power at 6,000 rpm and the 6500 rpm red line. The new, lighter single-mass flywheel provides a faster throttle response for turbocharged engines, resulting in a more sporty experience.

Si's standard 6-speed manual gearbox has been redesigned to provide better gear shifting and a 10% reduction in stroke. For the first time, Civic Si is equipped with a Civic Type R speed matching system. As a true enthusiast car, Si exclusively provides three pedals and a gear lever.

In order to maximize Si’s handling, ride quality and overall driver enjoyment, its suspension has been completely re-adjusted, using harder springs, stronger dampers, strategically harder bushings and thicker Anti-roll bar. The update of the steering system greatly improves the steering feel.

The unique sports design elements of the Civic Si add a bit of attitude, while the functional aerodynamic aids improve performance. The sporty honeycomb grid echoes the complicated honeycomb decoration in the cabin. Si's new front bumper upper design is more aggressive, and the rear bumper has been redesigned to expose two large oval exhaust ports.

The bright black rear spoiler mounted on the top of the trunk lid increases downforce to improve high-speed stability. The rearview mirrors and window frames of the Civic Si also use bright black exteriors. Available in Si's unique Blazing Orange Pearl paint color, and standard Si-specific matte black large 18-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels.

Inside, the Civic Si is equipped with a new Si unique body-stabilizing sports seat, built-in headrest, and more prominent shoulder and thigh side supports. The lively red accents on Civic’s signature metal honeycomb dashboard trim match the contrast stitching on the steering wheel, doors, console, gearshift luggage and leather-wrapped aluminum gearshift knobs. Sports pedals are standard equipment.

The most technologically advanced Civic Si ever is equipped with a new 7-inch color LCD meter display, a 9-inch high-definition color touch screen, and wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration. The new 12-speaker Bose premium sound system is standard. It uses Bose Centerpoint 2 technology and SurroundStage digital signal processing technology, and is the best audio system in the history of the Civic Si nameplate.

Civic Si also benefits from the cutting-edge safety technology introduced by the 11th-generation Civic series, including next-generation driver and passenger front airbags, and standard rear seat side impact airbags. In addition, the expanded Honda Sensing® driver assistance and safety technology suite adds new features, such as traffic sign recognition and driver attention monitor.

The rear seat reminder and rear seat belt reminder are the new standards in the entire lineup. All Civic models, including Si, use Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure, which has been enhanced to improve compatibility with large vehicles.
