Maserati is back with the second generation of the GranTurismo and it comes in both Electric and V6 powertrains. The GranTurismo coupé combines the high performance typical of a sports car with comfort suitable for long distances. At launch, the GranTurismo is available in three versions: Modena, Trofeo and Folgore. The GranTurismo is also available in the PrimaSerie 75th Anniversary Launch Edition, a limited series featuring exclusive content and dedicated to its recent 75th anniversary.

Maserati has brought back most of its design for the older GranTurismo, with the long bonnet and the central body intersected by the four fenders. The roof line drops dynamically to emphasize the curve of the pillar that features the iconic Trident logo. The front of the GranTurismo also features vertical lights like its predecessor whereas the rear features new taillights and the rear is illuminated by full LED Technology. At the launch of Maserati GranTurismo, six colors are available: Bianco, Grigio Maratea, Grigio Maratea Matte, Nero Ribelle, Blu Emozione, and Blu Nobile.

The interior design is inspired by the concept of a clean, modern and emotive design, with room for new technology. The new GranTurismo steering wheel comes with Start/Stop and Drive Mode Control buttons. The Nero Lucido accents and stitching match the color of the leather. The chrome-plated details emphasize the ‘appendage’ – a Maserati hallmark, in its third generation. A new 12.0-inch digital dashboard and a couple of infotainment screens are displayed on the center of the dashboard with the top for entertainment and the bottom for comfort features. Maserati hasn’t released any pictures of the interior as of yet.

The GranTurismo’s six-cylinder 3000-cc twin-turbo engine revolves around Maserati Twin Combustion (MTC) technology, which made its first appearance on the Nettuno engine, the driving force behind the MC20 super sports car, using patented pre-chamber combustion technology derived from Formula One engines. The engine makes 489 hp and 600 nm of torque in the Modena and 550 hp and 650 Nm of torque in the Trofeo. The Trofeo can achieve 0-100km/h in 3.5 seconds and achieve a top speed of 310 km/h while the Modena does 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and achieve a top speed of 302 km/h.

GranTurismo Folgore is equipped with three 300-kW electric motors, powered by an 800-volt battery, to achieve a maximum available power to the wheels of over 750 Hp and 1350 Nm of torque. The battery has a nominal capacity of 92.5 kWh. It does 0-100km/h in 2.7 seconds and achieves a top speed of 320 km/h. All models come with all-wheel drive as standard. Final prices for the GranTurismo variants will be revealed before their respective launches: the V6 car will arrive in spring 2023 and the EV is expected to arrive in the second half of next year. Maserati has not made any announcement about the Gran Turismo’s India launch as of yet.
