Experience for yourself the actual working principle of the internal combustion engine.

Because internal combustion engines operate at such high pressures, it is difficult to see their internal workings on the camera. Usually the entire process is covered by thick metal to contain all the explosive energy and convert it into propulsion. As great as graphs, interpreters, and simulations, if you want to get a good understanding of what is happening inside the engine block that is working, there is nothing better than seeing the real thing.

The TROdesigns YouTube channel decided to show the combustion process of the four-stroke engine on the camera, so it developed an acrylic block with clear and transparent cylinders based on the Honda motorcycle engine. After assembling the motor and running the compression test, the host starts it so that we can witness the operation of the system.

Thanks to the magic of the slow motion 4K camera, when the spark plug ignites the gasoline, pushing the cylinder down and causing the engine to spin, we can see the exact moment of combustion in the cylinder. Even if you are not obsessed with engineering or even dislike machinery, this looks pretty cool.

Of course, this is not the first time we have seen someone try to build a transparent engine. If you want to see the combustion process from the perspective of a clear cylinder head, head here to watch a video of an engine with an acrylic cylinder head.
